Some progress on EdzUpOS

Over the last few weeks we have put the finishing touches to the EdzUp UText system that will enable us to write ultra fast text systems for our software. Currently this systems runs on all MSDOS which is a nice quick bare for the metal system.

Our main goal from all this at the end is to have a system we can release apps and simple games using DosBox and FreeDOS so that people can play them on anything.

Next for us is writing more of the VGA and SVGA libraries so we can release a more complete technical demonstration.

Still here and moving forwards....

Well after AppGameKit has moved to community updating only I made the decision to port Star Rogue to Unity3d, this is going well and I will once again publish videos once I get to the point where I can have something good to show. On the whole Unity allows me to test each scene of the game rather than having to play the entire game to get to that point to see if its working correctly which is a nice addition. Another nice addition is the ability to release all the builds from the one platform which is also very nice.

On another front I have moved my main development PC to Linux mint 22.1 now and  I have to say its going amazingly well I have been able to run everything I want on it from games to Unity itself, I do see that the Linux version of AGK has been 'retired' which is a shame as that would  have allowed testing of other sections of the old code base but its a small issue that is resolved by moving to Unity as well.

I will now bring my blog back from the brink and continue posting here as things progress on all fronts to get back to making games.
